Agroforestry: Revitalising Farming and the Environment
Agroforestry, a time-honoured practice in India, has been a crucial part of rural livelihoods, meeting demands for fuel, timber, fodder, and more while offering significant environmental benefits.
The challenges farmers face are that chemical farming have led to severe soil degradation and increased dependency on harmful chemicals. The water table has been significantly depleted due to water-intensive farming methods. Small landholdings (average of 4-5 hectares) and reliance on mono-culture farming have limited agricultural productivity. To cater to these challenges, we have successfully implemented agroforestry project in the state of Haryana.
In collaboration with Say Trees, Atulya Foundation has partnered with farmers in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, to transition from chemical to natural farming through agroforestry models.
Plantation Achievements: Over 4,000 saplings of diverse fruits, including orange, mango, litchi, grapes, jamun, and lemon, were planted with the aim of increasing both farmers’ incomes and ecological sustainability.

Greening the Future: Atulya Foundation’s Tree Plantation Drives
We are fostering a sustainable and green environment through large-scale tree plantation initiatives. With a commitment to creating healthier ecosystems, we have successfully planted over 2,000 saplings across Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi, Noida, and Bulandshahr.
Creating Sustainable Green Spaces
Our tree plantation drives are strategically planned and executed at sites where the planted saplings receive comprehensive care to ensure their survival and growth.
- Maintenance: Regular maintenance, including proper soiling, watering, and protection, is undertaken to ensure the saplings thrive and contribute to the environment.
- Long-Term Commitment: The responsibility of nurturing these plants until they become self-sustainable is a key part of our initiative.
Atulya Foundation has boosted our farming, increased our income, and improved the environment with tree plantations, making our village stronger and greener.
